last week, our dog passed away.
she was 15 years old and suffering from some kidney disease, which is fatal for a dog.
i couldn’t make it to her last moment.

she was such a troublemaker.
she used to snatch our food, hide our underwear under the bed, sleep smack in the middle of the futon.
she was such a spoiled dog.

we loved her a lot.

inevitably, our pets pass away before us.
nothing lasts forever.

but still, somehow, we believed she would be with us for good.
we didn’t imagine our life without her.

先週、実家で15年飼ってた犬が旅立ちました。
遠くに住む私は最期を看取ることができなかった。
ワガママで寂しがりやなコで手を焼いたけど、
私たちは彼女が大好きだった。

動物は必ず私たちより先に逝ってしまう。
だからこそ、一緒にいられる時間を大切にしたい。

5年以上前の旅の写真。
まだ写真を撮り始めて（正確には撮るのを再開して）間もない頃で、
とにかく一眼レフで撮るのが楽しくてしょうがなかった頃。
まだミディアムフォーマットもポラロイドも、他のカメラを持ってなかったから、
「どのカメラで撮ろう？」なんて迷いもなかった。

しかも親友と一大決起した、ユーラシア大陸最北の地を目指す北欧バックパックの旅。

引っ越しの準備で写真が出てきて、ああいいなあ、良い意味で無欲だったなあ、
良い旅だったなあ、と懐かしさでいっぱいに。

またああいう旅がしたい、と思うけど、
あの旅は一度きりで、
今同じ事をしても、きっと同じ感覚ではないだろう。

写真、もっときちんと形にして残してあげなきゃ。

i wanna go travel again.

決して好きなエリアじゃなかったし、
部屋にもお隣りさんにも不満はあったけど、
空っぽの部屋を見るのはやっぱりさみしい。
